Level up your accounting knowledge with Accounting Essentials! This course is desinged as an introduction to the essentials of accounting for business. Explore basic financial statements like balance sheets and income statements and learn how accounting informs decision making through liquidity, leverage, efficiency, and profitability ratios.
Module 1: You'll learn to interpret the information conveyed in three basic financial statements and how to connect basic financial accounting concepts to a firm's external financial statements. You'll also explore basic accounting terminology, and become familiar with statements of cash flows.
Module 2: This module helps you understand how financial accounting information can be used to inform decision making through learning the four main categories of financial ratios. By the end of the module, you'll have the knowledge to assess the short-term financial health of a company, evaluate a company's long-term solvency and risk, analyze operational effectiveness, and measure a company's returns across sales and investments.
